First the water bottles are similar to all\u003cbr\u003eother sublimated products in that the transfer must make direct contact with\u003cbr\u003ethe surface of the water bottle and reach about 380 degrees before sublimation\u003cbr\u003ewill occur.\u003cbr\u003eSecondly the Polar Camel needs to have a poly-coating in order to accept the\u003cbr\u003esublimation ink. Optimal image quality will be achieved using Polar Camels\u003cbr\u003especifically designed for sublimation.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThere are 3 methods of sublimating this product - in a mug press in an oven\u003cbr\u003eusing shrink wrap or a silicone wrap. Scroll for all methods.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eUSING A MUG PRESS:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNote: Because not all mug presses are created equally the dwell time in a\u003cbr\u003epress can vary. The settings below are based on a GKDK3 mug press from George\u003cbr\u003eKnight.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e2nd Note: Be sure that the artwork does not go beyond the size limits of the\u003cbr\u003emug press.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e3rd Note: Because of the gap where the mug press closes you will not be able\u003cbr\u003eto have the artwork wrap around the entire beverage holder.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSupplies needed:\u003cbr\u003e- sublimatable substrate (water bottle)\u003cbr\u003e- sublimation transfer\u003cbr\u003e- scratch paper\u003cbr\u003e- heat tape\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMug heat press settings:\u003cbr\u003e- temperature - 380 degrees F\u003cbr\u003e- dwell time - 1 - 1:15 minutes\u003cbr\u003e- pressure - light to medium\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSteps:\u003cbr\u003e1. Remove the top of the water bottle\u003cbr\u003e2. Position the substrate onto the transfer.\u003cbr\u003e3. Tape two ends of the transfer allowing for the gap in the mug press where\u003cbr\u003eit will close.\u003cbr\u003e4. Wrap a piece of scratch paper around the transfer and water bottle taping\u003cbr\u003eif necessary.\u003cbr\u003e5. Center the water bottle in the mug press.\u003cbr\u003e6. Close the mug press using the heat press settings above.\u003cbr\u003e7. Remove items from the press immediately. Use heat resistant gloves if\u003cbr\u003enecessary - the items will be very hot.\u003cbr\u003e8. Remove transfer and scratch paper.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eTips:\u003cbr\u003e- If the image of the final product appears light increase the pressure or\u003cbr\u003ethe dwell time slightly (10-15 seconds).\u003cbr\u003e- If the image on the final product appears blurred or substrate appears\u003cbr\u003eyellowed reduce the dwell time slightly (10-15 seconds).\u003cbr\u003e- Too much pressure can cause trapped moisture in the paper to \"jet\" away\u003cbr\u003epulling ink with it in a spiked-peaked formation. To avoid this reduce the\u003cbr\u003epressure.\u003cbr\u003e- Take care when applying pressure as too much press can cause the water\u003cbr\u003ebottle to bend slightly.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIN A CONVECTION OVEN (with Silicone Wrap - MGWRP6):\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNote: Because not all ovens are created equally the dwell time in an oven can\u003cbr\u003erange from 6:30 to 7:30 minutes. Convection oven is recommended. Position transfer onto the substrate using heat tape to secure the transfer\u003cbr\u003eto the substrate.\u003cbr\u003e2. Cut a piece of scratch paper to tape over your artwork transfer this\u003cbr\u003eprotects your wrap from ink.\u003cbr\u003e3. Use the silicone wrap to secure the transfer to the Polar Camel start\u003cbr\u003ewrapping the Polar Camel by stretching and rolling the silicone over top of\u003cbr\u003eitself. Make sure to start wrap in a non artwork area to prevent a line in\u003cbr\u003eyour artwork.\u003cbr\u003e4. Put a piece of heat tape around silicone wrapped Polar Camel to secure\u003cbr\u003ewrap.\u003cbr\u003e5. Place Polar Camel in oven with recommended settings listed above.\u003cbr\u003e6. Halfway through the cook time open the oven and turn the Polar Camel 180\u003cbr\u003edegrees. This allows for even heating.\u003cbr\u003e6. Pull from oven and remove wrap and paper.
